I am a doctoral student and licensed psychologist investigating the feasibility and effects of Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) for anorexia nervosa.
I am a doctoral student and licensed psychologist at the Department of Clinical Science. I also work within the National Specialized Medical Care for Eating Disorders, where I combine research with clinical practice.
Doctoral Research
My dissertation project evaluates Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) for anorexia nervosa. RO-DBT is a transdiagnostic psychological treatment aimed at increasing flexibility, emotional openness, and social connectedness. The project investigates feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effects on eating-disorder symptoms and obsessive-compulsive personality traits. The primary focus is on quantitative analyses complemented by qualitative data. As part of the project, I am also conducting a psychometric validation of the dimensional personality instrument FFOCI-SF, to enable reliable and valid assessment of obsessive-compulsive personality traits in Swedish. The dissertation is carried out within Magnus Sjögren’s research group, with Associate Professor and Senior Consultant in Psychiatry Magnus Sjögren as principal supervisor. Johanna Levallius (researcher and psychologist) and Kirsten Gilbert (Associate Professor and psychologist at Washington University in St. Louis, USA) serve as co-supervisors.
Clinical Work & Additional Research Projects
Within the National Specialized Medical Care for Eating Disorders, I work as a clinical psychologist and as data manager for the Prospective Study on Eating Disorders (PRO-ÄT), a research project examining the biological and psychological mechanisms underlying eating disorders. I also participate in a research project on clinicians’ experiences, professional development, and working conditions in eating-disorder services. These studies highlight how professional competencies and organizational factors shape the conditions for sustainable working lives and high-quality clinical care. Previously, I worked in general psychiatric outpatient care with neuropsychiatric assessments and psychological treatment, including dialectical behavior therapy.
Teaching & Knowledge Dissemination
In addition to my clinical and research work, I am actively engaged in teaching and public dissemination of knowledge. For several years, I have been an external lecturer in the psychology program at Mid Sweden University and have been a recurring invited speaker at the national Psychology Students’ Congress. I also contribute to dissemination of research-based knowledge outside academia.
