Peter Gustafsson is a postdoctoral fellow in entrepreneurship, with a primary focus on small and medium-sized enterprises within the context of the green transition, in the project "Green transformation in northern Sweden: How and when are entrepreneurs recognized as 'eco'?", funded by the Kamprad Family Foundation.

In connection with this, he has - in collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth - compiled a report on companies’ opportunities and obstacles in the green transition, summarizing the scientific literature on the subject. The report can be found here: Link to publication

Peter’s doctoral thesis focused on strategies for innovation within the international maritime industry, with a particular emphasis on digitalization in shipbuilding.

He has also been teaching business administration since 2019. In 2025, he represented Umeå University at the 5th EC2U Entrepreneurial Week, hosted by the University of Turku, together with representatives from Johannes Kepler University Linz, the University of Salamanca, the University of Coimbra, and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.
