Those of you who study at the Faculty of Social Sciences (Samhällsvetenskaplig fakultet) can also apply via CityU Hong Kong (College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences).

CityU have a mentor programme called the International Friends Club. Incoming exchange students are given the opportunity to participate in different activities and to meet other exchange students at the University. The activities are organised by CityU students, who are called buddies. Additionally, there are more than 80 student organisations at the University, who organise different activities. There is something for everyone at the University!  
 
CityU is ranked no. 55 in the QS World University Rankings, and no. 8 in the QS Asian University Rankings.

About Hong Kong

Hong Kong, located on the south coast of China, was a British crown colony until 1997 when it was returned to China where it now constitutes a special administrative region. The city has over 7 million citizens and the official languages are English and Chinese. There are no older buildings in the central area, instead Hong Kong is characterised by modern architecture.

Information from CityU Hong Kong

Exchange students may only study at an undergraduate level. Undergraduate students are not able to apply for graduate courses. 

Available courses to exchange students can be found on the Exchange Student website, under ‘Submit Your Application’, then ‘Select Courses for Your Study Plan’.  
 
Full time studies (corresponding to 30 hp): 12-18 credits. Please select at least 6 courses from the list of undergraduate courses for exchange students 
 
Course types: 3 credits (term course) 
 
Course levels: 
Course codes starting with 1, 2, 3, or 4 are undergraduate courses. 
e.g., GE1111, CS2114, AIS3012, MA4152) 

Academic year: 

Autumn term: September–December 
Spring term: January–May 

Accommodation

Exchange students will need to submit an online application for housing on campus. There is limited on-campus accommodation available and therefore no guarantee for a residence place. CityU has an Accommodation Website, where students can find information about student housing, as well as how to find off-campus accommodation.

Student grants and loans for studies outside of Sweden

You may be entitled to student grants and loans from CSN when studying abroad.

As the cost of living and accommodation may be higher abroad, you can apply for an extra loan known as an additional loan for studies abroad.

You can also apply for an additional loan to cover additional costs, i.e. travel and insurance costs.
