Campus: TMU has three campuses, main campus - Minami-Osawa - is located about one hour by train from Tokyo.
Student life: The sports centre Minai-Osawa has basketball courts, a swimming pool, judo hall and a kendo hall. Outdoors there are tennis courts, a baseball field and a range to practice golf.

About Tokyo

Tokyo is the capital of Japan and one of the largest cities in Asia, with a population of 9 million in the city and 35 million in the metropolitan area. That makes Tokyo one of the most populous areas. The city has many skyscrapers, more than New York. There are also several parks where it's possible to see the blooms of the cherry trees in the spring. Tokyo Sky Tree, which was opened to the public in 2012, is the city's tallest and the world's second tallest building. The tower has a lookout deck and is a popular tourist destination.

Incoming exchange students need an undergraduate diploma in order to apply for graduate courses. If they wish to enroll in a regular graduate program, they must meet the necessary requirements and then take and pass an entrance examination.

SATOMU is a short-term (one or two semesters) programme for exchange students.

Full time studies (corresponding to 30 hp): 14 credits (tentatively 10 credits of courses offered in English and 4 credits of Japanese language courses)

Course types: 1–2 credits/course

Full-time students have registration priority for courses instructed in Japanese. Those who wish to take courses in Japanese need to consult with a course instructor before registration.

Term 2: September - February

Accommodation

Accommodation for exchange students is guaranteed. Accommodation will be
automatically allocated by TMU.
Global House Chofu (opened in September, 2017) which is a shared apartment with single (and furnished) bedrooms with a common kitchen and shower rooms.

Student grants and loans for studies outside of Sweden

You may be entitled to student grants and loans from CSN when studying abroad.

As the cost of living and accommodation may be higher abroad, you can apply for an extra loan known as an additional loan for studies abroad.

You can also apply for an additional loan to cover additional costs, i.e. travel and insurance costs.
