Study guidance

Do you need individual guidance to help you plan your future studies, or have thoughts about your options after you have finished your studies? You can talk to a student counsellor or study counsellor. Depending on the type of questions you have, there are different types of counsellors available for you.

For questions concerning a specific study programme or single-subject courses

At the department or study programme, there are student counsellors who are well-informed about the subject or programme you want to know more about. You may have questions about a programme overview, how to choose between courses within a programme, the possibilities for placements or studies abroad, or about approved leave from studies. These student counsellors are also the persons to turn to if you are considering applying for transfer of credits.

You can find contact persons for each course or programme in the on-line catalogue. You can also use the staff directory to find student counsellors at the departments.

For general study and career related questions

At Infocenter, there are study counsellors available all weekdays. They may help you with questions about, for example:

  • How to plan your future studies
  • If you are unsure about your current choice of education
  • Entry requirements or selection rules and procedures
  • Approved leave from studies, or non-completion of studies
  • Rights and obligations as a student, or degree regulations
  • Spending parts of your studies abroad
