Sustainability at USBE

Responsibility for the Future

Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics (USBE) acts for a sustainable development by creating and spreading knowledge through education, research and in collaboration with others. We are promoting knowledge about, and for, sustainable development and are using the 17 sustainable development goals as a framework when we are creating responsible leaders for the future. Our work on sustainability is coordinated in the Council for Sustainable Development and involves all parts of the school.

  • offering students and staff a learning environment of high quality that encouragesindependent thinking and proactive approaches on issues related to sustainabledevelopment,
  • offering an environment that enables conceptual and empirical research on sustainabledevelopment and sustainable value outcomes,
  • increasing the awareness of sustainable development through interaction with industry andcommunity, including the challenges of sustainable responsibility.
  • emission prevention and striving to contribute to a sustainable level of energy and naturalresource use.

USBE’s work on sustainable development is to comply with laws and regulations and to drive work in a continuous improvement process within the scope of the Umeå university steering documents regarding sustainable development work (Miljöpolicy, Regel för miljö- och hållbarhetsarbete och Handlingsplan för klimat och hållbar utveckling 2021-2023), the USBE strategic plan (including vision and mission), the quality management system and sustainability goals.
