International Networking Conference for PhD students in Psychology (INCPP)

INCPP is an online conference aimed towards doctoral students in the field of Psychology.

Virtual Conference Dates: November 24-25, 2022
Location: Umeå University, Sweden

INCPP virtual conference,
November 24-25, 2022

The aim of the conference is to stimulate international collaboration and exchange. Participants will be able to learn more about international collaborations, meet other PhD students within their field of research and talk about their research from an international perspective. We want this to work as a long-lasting platform to make new contacts as well as to inspire the new generation of researchers to go into exciting international collaborations.

The conference will be held as a free online event from Umeå University in northern Sweden. The conference is aimed at graduate students within the field of Psychology or other nearby disciplines. There will be presentations and digital poster sessions for sharing research.

Why attend?

Present your research, network with your peers and build the groundwork for future collaborations, all free of charge. In this new online-conference we hope to provide a platform for the fruitful exchange of ideas and potential building of collaborative partnerships that could last throughout your career. We hope to provide you with the opportunities to learn more about exchanges during your PhD and how a future post doc position could look like in different places.

Themes and focus areas

At this conference, keynote speakers and experts in internationalization and international cooperation will share their experiences and knowledge on how we all can work more internationally. The themes we want to address are:

Your work in an international perspective. What does your research bring to the field on an international scale? How does your research fit into an international perspective? What could you gain from international collaborations? During this conference, we want to find out how we can put our own work into an international context, laying the groundwork for future international collaborations.

How to collaborate internationally. Get inspired by meeting people with diverse backgrounds, discussing ideas, and making contacts for future collaborations. With this conference, we want to find out together how we build international networks as PhD students. How can we get started working together with people who share our passion but not location?

Social and discussion activities. During the latter part of the day, we have social activities planned where – among other things – you can share your own experiences from your PhD and learn about how research is done in other countries.

Since the main focus is internationalization we aim to cover a broad array of fields to share and exchange ideas in.

  • Clinical psychology
  • Health psychology
  • Experimental psychology
  • Developmental psychology
  • Neuropsychology
  • Cognitive psychology / Cognitive Science
  • Work and Organizational psychology
  • Sport psychology
  • And others
