The interdisciplinary arctic research at Umeå University is rich and is conducted within all faculties. An important task for Arctic Centre is to unify and introduce these researchers and activities.

Our vision is that all research conducted within the Arctic and the North can be accounted for as Arctic research. In this perspective, arctic research at Umeå University is conducted within all faculties and within a vast variety of research areas. Some of these areas are climate, environment, culture, history, tourism, economy, health, law, sustainable societies and medicine.

The Arctic Centre has around 200 associated researchers who solely, or in part, conduct Arctic research. As an Associated Researcher at Arctic Centre, you will be able to:

  • Widen the Arctic perspective in your research.
  • Gain access to a well established network of researchers and educators at Umeå University, and to our partners' institutions and associations across the Arctic regions.
  • Build your own network and discover more about researchers across disciplines at Umeå University.
