Instead of donating directly to the university, you may in some cases prefer that your donation be managed through a dedicated foundation affiliated with Umeå University. To establish such a foundation, the capital should normally amount to at least five million SEK. A foundation requires a larger capital due to administrative and management costs associated with handling the foundation’s assets. If you wish to make this kind of contribution, it is important that the purpose of the donation is expressed broadly and formulated in a way that ensures the foundation’s mission remains sustainable over time.
Whether you donate directly to Umeå University or through an affiliated foundation, your donation will always be used in accordance with the purpose you specify.
