About the course

The aim of the course is to develop the student´s knowledge of scientific work and to carry out and present an independent thesis work in gender studies. The thesis is planned in joint consultation with a supervisor. The result shall be presented in written form. Apart from the actual writing of a thesis the student is also expected to defend the thesis and to act as a discussant on another student's thesis.

The thesis can be written in Swedish or English.

Required Knowledge

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent first-cycle qualification comprising of at least 180 ECTS or a corresponding qualification from an internationally recognised university. In addition to this, another 30 ETCS on advanced level in gender studies, and 7,5 ECTS in Research Methods on advanced level for the Social Sciences or humanities,or equivalently, is required.

English proficiency equivalent to English A/6 and Swedish from Swedish Upper secondary education if the course is given in Swedish.
