The course aims to provide an in-depth orientation in the subject of architecture by highlighting the connection between theory and practice. The semester's central concepts of scale, structure and texture are examined based on theoretical, philosophical and communicative aspects. The course reflexively introduces important methods for the architectural profession, such as re-evaluation, analysis, argumentation, composition, text and sketch, to analyse, reflect and argue about scale, structure and texture. The course largely consists of workshops and group exercises in seminar form. The individual work is organized around the student's testing and exploration of new tools and methods as well as critical reading of, and reflection on, relevant texts. Briefings and opportunities for criticism are a central part of both the pedagogical structure and assessment.
