About the course

The course begins by describing why it is important to manage financial risks. The course continues with the question of how financial risk can be measured and quantified. The focus is then on the VAR model that can be used as an instrument to measure and control risk as well as an instrument for active risk management.

Required Knowledge

90 credits of which at least 7.5 credits in mathematics containing calculus, such as One-dimensional calculus 1 or Mathematical Economics I D7. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

Students applying for courses within a double degree exchange agreement, within the departments own agreements will be given first priority. Then will - in turn - candidates within the departments own agreements, faculty agreements, central exchange agreements and other departmental agreements be selected.
