About the course

The course provides an overview of the main theories and empirical developments in welfare state and social policy analysis. Major and updated topics are discussed such as aging societies, globalization and immigration. Special emphasis is put on the characteristics of welfare policies in Sweden. The development and distinctiveness of the Swedish Model is analyzed in a comparative and international perspective.



Social Policy in focus 7.5 credits corresponds to a part of the course Social Policy and family in focus 15 credits. The course may not be included in a degree together with Social Policy and family in focus 15 credits.
