This focus area deals with both questions regarding the visualization of research data, as well as artistic expressions that deal with the digital, both theoretically and practically, including contemporary art, games, music, dance, etc.
How is art defined as a focus area at Humlab?
Examples of projects within this focus area can be to construct and investigate digital exhibition environments; look at how audiovisual designs can depict the breadth of an author's work; investigate how games use environment to tell a story, as well as how artificial intelligence can be used as a tool by artists.
Research within this focus area often takes place on an artistic basis, both individually and in collaboration with a humanities research practice, but can also be about developing technology for an artistic project.
