29 Million SEK to UCMR researchers

NEWS The Swedish Research Council has decided on the applications to be awarded grants within Medicine and health 2023. Seven research leaders affiliated to the Umeå Centre for Microbial Research, UCMR, reveive project grants of a total sum of 29,4 Million SEK.

Niklas Arnberg is granted SEK 4,800,000 for the project: Virus-caused gastroenteritis: Models, molecules and mechanisms

Ronnie Berntsson is granted SEK 2,400,000 for the project: Exploring the molecular mechanisms in conjugative type 4 secretion systems in gram-positive bacteria

Lars-Anders Carlson is granted SEK 4,800,000 for the project: Molecular mechanisms in alphavirus and flavivirus genome replication

Felipe Cava is granted SEK 9,000,000 for the project: Bacterial cell wall homeostasis and plasticity: from fundamental factors to antimicrobial targeting

Jörgen Johansson is granted SEK 2,400,000 for the project: Regulatory RNAs in pathogens - possible targets for antimicrobial substances?

Olivia Wesula Lwande is granted SEK 3,600,000 for the project: VOICE - Vector for O´nyong-nyong virus, infection, competence and ecology

Ignacio Mir-Sanchis is granted SEK 2,400,000 for the project: Transfer of toxins in Staphylococcus aureus
