See you for a Life Science Shake-Up in Hotell Hallstaberget, Sollefteå, on 7-8 February 2023!
It will be organised as a lunch-to-lunch event on 7-8 February 2023 in the wonderful setting of Hotell Hallstaberget, Sollefteå, and a possibility for winter sports activities, downhill and cross-country skiing as well as relaxing SPA!
The organiser, Coalition Umeå for Life Science (CU4LS), invites all of Umeå's researchers active in different life science fields to join this multidisciplinary event, have a good time discussing science with colleagues and shake up the local life science community!
Our aim is to launch a different type of "come together" that stimulates curiosity and interactions and creates innovative and collaborative constellations. This is strongly facilitated by non-constrained brainstorming!

A well-known secret of every conference is that the most important scientific exchange happens after the formal sessions are over. Those lucky ones, selected for oral presentation by the conference organizing committee, get the exposure and benefit from this exchange the most. The main objective of a “non-conference” format is to reduce the usual emphasis on formal talks and give exposure to as many participants as possible.
Besides two keynote lectures, the program will be self-organised at the start of the meeting, and you will be able to shape it. Every participant will get an opportunity to highlight their favourite scientific problem by giving a 10-minute talk in a parallel session that they chose. How will that work? Easy as one, two, three! Prepare the presentation, post the title of your talk on a Post-it note on a whiteboard of the parallel session that suits you most, give your talk, and meet those like-minded colleagues interested in your ideas downstairs in the bar after the sessions are over!

3-hour downhill ski pass Adult: SEK 230

The trail fee for cross-country skis is SEK 50 / day (rent is possible but limited)
There will be a free course in cross-country skiing given by an internal professional instructor!
