Project description

To address the problem of low mathematics skills among students at the Faculty of Science and Technology, we are implementing a project using funds from Punktum to identify students' knowledge gaps and design digital support measures. By statistically analyzing students' diagnostic tests in mathematics, we get more information about students’ knowledge gaps. We then construct self-correcting multiple-choice questions that contributes to a more formative assessment and improves students' learning and understanding of mathematics. We use the university-recommended learning platform Canvas. The project focuses initially on the first 7.5 credits part of Calculus. However, depending on the results and feedback, it may be extended to the second part.
