Making IT happen - A study of the advanced use of digital technologies in Swedish upper secondary schools

Research project The aim is to analyse and compare how digital practices are incorporated and developed in three upper secondary schools in Sweden known for their advanced use of digital technologies. From a longitudinal and multi-level perspective, the project will investigate how the school leaders, teachers and students at each school incorporate different forms of knowledge within and between the different subjects and levels of the schools organisation.

This research project focuses on how digital technologies are integrated, developed and understood in three Swedish upper secondary schools known for their advanced use of digital technologies in teaching, administration and organizational development. The aim with the project is to produce a multi-facetted and deepened research- and evidence-based knowledge that can contribute to the understanding of which ways digital technologies are part of, and contribute to, school development as well as to shape different subject-, learning and knowledge cultures. Moreover, how digital technologies facilitates different strategies for school leaders and teachers’ collaboration and teaching over time.
