Workers with medical implants-guidance when returning to work in environment that involve exposure to electromagnetic fields

It is becoming increasingly common for people to have surgical implants and often into patients of working age who subsequently return to work following a serious injury or illness. Normally this does not pose any problems. In certain occupations, however, the return to work can be complicated by the worker's electromagnetic environment that can affect the implants. This study will give a summary of the knowledge about electromagnetic field disturbance pertaining to various implants and a survey of the workplaces in which such disturbances can be found.
