The Industrial Doctoral School announces a call for doctoral resources
Do you want to start a research project together with a company or an organisation? As a researcher at Umeå University, you now have the opportunity to apply for a doctoral resource through the Industrial Doctoral School. The call is open until 22 September.

Funding body: Industrial Doctoral School for Research and Innovation
Applicant: Researchers at Umeå University who are qualified to act as principal supervisor to a doctoral student may apply for doctoral resources. Applicants are only permitted to have one ongoing doctoral project with IDS at the time their application is submitted.
Application period: 10 June 2025 - 22 September 2025
Grant amount: 50 per cent of the doctoral student’s salary (under exceptional circumstances, 75 percent)
Grant period: 48 months and three months of paid internship at the external external organisation
Call for doctoral resources from the Industrial Doctoral SchoolThe call concerns projects carried out in collaboration with external organisations (private as well as public and non-profit organisations).
The doctoral student’s salary costs are funded jointly – half by the Industrial Doctoral School and half by the external partner.
All researchers at the University who are qualified to act as principal supervisor for doctoral students are welcome to apply. Applications are accepted from all faculties and research areas.
