I am leading the multicenter clinical RCT "Direct letters to relatives at risk of hereditary cancer –a randomised controlled trial of healthcare-assisted versus family-mediated risk disclosure at cancer genetics clinics in Sweden (DIRECT-study)" evaluating if the complement of of direct letters to at-risk relatives is superior to standard care alone. Primary outcome is number of at-risk relatives contacting a Swedish cancer genetic unit within 12 months. Families with increased risk of developing breast/ovarian- or colorectal cancer are recruited to the study.
I have a fulltime employment as a senior consultant at Regional cancer center North. I received a FORTE grant as a junior researcher for the years 2019-2022 and during 2023-2026 I recieve a career support from the Swedish research council (Vetenskapsrådet). The DIRECT-project is also supported from Cancerfonden and the Regional agreement between Umeå University and Västerbotten County Council (Projektmedel centrala ALF samt basenhets-ALF).
Teaching involves lectures and seminars at the Medical programme, Master in biomedicine, Master in nursing, and in internal courses for health care professionals.
