Design Talks & Degree Show

Each study year ends with the Design Talks & Degree Show. The event brings design leaders and practitioners to Umeå to discuss the future of design with our UID graduates. During two days, graduates showcase their unique talents through live on-stage talks and physical models at the degree exhibition.

During the event, students give bite-size talks on stage, showcasing their projects via 3D models and digital visualisations. The following exhibition allows visitors to speak to students and further explore their visions through physical models, graphic posters and video expositions.

For the online audience, the event is broadcast in full and a packed digital gallery is available on our web. Whether you are in Umeå or following online, the event offers an exclusive insight into each student's unique journey as they reveal their final design concepts.

Each year, representatives from companies, organizations and the design community join the event to follow up collaborations with students, to view demonstrations and portfolios, and to recruit the next generation of industrial designers. UID's vast international network of collaborators help create an event that sets new trends and sparks discussion on where design is headed.
