MobilePhoneOrchestra.com is a web based platform under development by composer/ researcher Anders Lind at the Department of Creative Studies, Umeå University.
The ambition with the platform is to enable performances of new contemporary art music compositions for mobile phone orchestra. Everybody regardless their musical background can participate in a mobile phone orchestra and the ambition is still to maintain exciting and explore new artistic expressions with this new performance paradigm - the mobile phone orchestra. The key within the concept is the use of novel animated notation to provide performance instructions in multiple parts for the performers of the orchestra.
The workshop will include: Presentation of the MobilePhoneOrchestra.com platform and the ongoing research process and provide for short performance exercises with the participators as a Mobile Phone Orchestra. Please have your phone ready! No musical background is needed!
