Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has studied epidemiology at Umeå University, has been appointed new Director General of the World Health Organization, WHO.
133 of 186 UN member states voted for Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in the vote on who would become the new Director General of the World Health Organization, the UN body working to improve global public health. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is the first General Director from Africa.
