Moment 1. Informationsvetenskaplig teori, 7,5 hp Information science theory
Momentets syfte är att fördjupa de studerandes kunskaper om informationsvetenskaplig forskning. Inom ramen för momentet kommer vi att granska central informationsvetenskaplig empirisk forskning, samt viktiga informationsvetenskapliga teorier och begrepp. Litteraturen som behandlas under momentet belyser både kontextuella och individuella förklaringsmodeller, samt olika perspektiv på vad som är syftet med ämnet informationsvetenskap. Momentet inleds en genomgång av individorienterade informationsvetenskapliga modeller och fortsätter med en granskning av de sociala nätverkens betydelse för individens tillgång till information. Momentet avslutas med ett närmare studium av forskning som bedrivs med ett domänanalytiskt och dokumentorienterat perspektiv.
Moment 2. Production and management of scientific information, 7,5 hp Vetenskaplig kunskapsproduktion, kommunikation och informationshantering
Momentet fokuserar på hur vetenskaplig forskning produceras, kommuniceras och hanteras. Momentet undersöker dessa informationsprocesser som sociala och kulturella processer som är integrerade i vetenskaplig praktik. Teman som tas upp inkluderar: vetenskaplig forskning som process; hur forskningsprocessen relaterar till kommunikation och hantering av vetenskaplig information; vetenskaplig kommunikation bland forskare samt mellan forskare och allmänheten; och skillnader mellan olika forskningsfält. Momentets teoretiska inramning utgörs av det tvärvetenskapliga fältet vetenskapsstudier.
This course module focuses on how scientific research is made, communicated and managed. It investigates these information processes as social and cultural activities, highlighting that they are part and parcel of scientific practice. Themes addressed include: the process of scientific research; how this process relates to the communication and management of scientific information; how these differ between scientific fields. These themes are addressed through the science studies literature.
Moment 3. Digital kultur, 7,5 hp Digital culture
Momentet behandlar nya medier med utgångspunkt i ett brett kulturanalytiskt perspektiv. En rad biblioteks- och informationsvetenskapligt relevanta teman som är kopplade till expansionen av digitala och interaktiva medier, som nätgemenskap, delaktighet, upphovsrätt och nya publikbeteenden diskuteras. Momentet organiseras med utgångspunkt i tre övergripande teman: bibliotek och sociala medier; digital kultur och upphovsrätt; samt digital kompetens och deltagarkultur.
För godkänd kurs ska den studerande uppvisa god kunskap och förståelse om:

För godkänd kurs ska den studerande avseende värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt visa god förmåga att självständigt kritiskt granska:
Univ: Kandidatprogrammet i Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap eller motsvarande.
Undervisningen är upplagd kring föreläsningar, seminarier, gruppövningar och individuella uppgifter. Obligatorisk närvaro gäller vid gruppövningar och seminarier.
Examinationen sker i form av aktivt deltagande i seminarier och grupparbeten samt presentation av individuella arbeten. Som betyg användes något av uttrycken underkänd, godkänd eller väl godkänd. För betyget väl godkänd på hel kurs krävs att 70 % av momenten har betyget väl godkänd. Redovisningsformerna ska möjliggöra en individuell bedömning av de studerande. Studenter har rätt till fyra examinationstillfällen, komplettering kan ges maximalt två gånger, därefter ska en ny uppgift ges. Efter två underkända prov för viss kurs eller del av kurs har student rätt att efter skriftlig begäran som lämnas till studierektor, få byta examinator (betygssättande lärare). Tentamen baserad på denna kursplan kan garanteras under minst 2 år efter studentens förstagångsregistrering på kursen.
