Cleanroom technology – User License Course (1.5 ECTS), 26-27 November 2020

The registration is closed!

Course Instructor

Roushdey Salh, Department of Physics, Umeå University.

Course description

A cleanroom is an environment, typically used in manufacturing or scientific research, with a low level of environmental pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapors. More accurately, a cleanroom has a controlled level of contamination that is specified by the number of particles per cubic meter at a specified particle size.

The course will introduce the participants (users) to the cleanroom environment and provide them with the necessary knowledge for correctly use of the cleanrooms and operate the facilities and run their own experiments in cleanroom environment without direct supervision. The course contents are validation and monitoring of the cleanroom, cleanroom maintains, gowning, cleanroom good practice. No entry permission will be given to the cleanroom without attending cleanroom technology course.

Users should be able to demonstrate during the course that they are able to use the cleanroom correctly and perform measurements in clean environment in order to gain their Licenses. The License enables the user to book online any special facility in the cleanroom. Users are always recommended to participate in the supplementary cleanroom seminars in physics department for updating their information.

Course Vision

  • To provide a main view over the construction and rules of cleanrooms.
  • To reach a higher level of understanding of contamination control.
  • To be able to use the clean room independently.
