This research examines how environmental and climate-related factors relate to and influence human health. The knowledge generated can support informed decision-making, promote sustainability and equity, and improve human health.
We study air pollution, extreme weather, environmental contaminants, climate change and access to natural environments.
We also address how scientific evidence can be effectively communicated and translated into policies to support risk management and behavioural and organisational change.
The area is multidisciplinary, including epidemiology, mathematical modelling, public health, ecology, geographical information science, environmental science and the social sciences, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
