Required Knowledge

University: At least two years of univerity studies with Multivariable Calculus (5MA010, 7,5 hp), Linear Algebra (5MA019, 7.5 hp), Mathematical Methods of Physics (5MA014, 15 hp), Statistics for Engineering Physicists (5MS007, 6 hp), Quantum Physics (5FY118, 4,5 hp), Introductory programming in C and Matlab (5DV104, 7,5 hp), and Project Management I (5BY008, 7,5 hp) , or corresponding. It is an advantage, but not a demand, to have studied Introductory Course in Medicine (5RA001, 5 hp), and Biomedical Engineering (5RA005, 10 hp) or Atomic and Nuclear Physics (5RA000, 7,5 hp). Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A/5. Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.


Academic credits Applicants in some programs at Umeå University have guaranteed admission to this course. The number of places for a single course may therefore be limited.
