Online and distance learning

Online and distance learning, or web-based education, can be a good option for those who want the flexibility of studying from anywhere in the world in an innovative educational experience. You don't need to be in Umeå to study at Umeå University.

How to apply for online and distance learning studies

Our distance learning courses and degree programmes have formal admission requirements (refer to the specific programme or course links for details). Students who wish to apply should apply online using the University Admissions in Sweden website (universityadmissions.se) during the open application periods.

Note: Autumn 2023 course offerings will be published in December.
