Second admissions round for EU/EEA citizens

If you are a citizen of an EU/EEA country (or if you already have a residence permit in Sweden or the EU/EEA) and have missed the main international admissions round, you can apply in the 2nd admissions round during 15 March - 15 April 2024.

The application period is 15 March - 15 April 2024

All international degree programmes that are offered during the second admission round are listed below in alphabetical order. Only three are offered at the bachelor's level*, which are at the end of the list.

The admissions results for the second admission round are published on 11 July, which means that you will have a shorter amount of time for practical matters, such as finding housing, and planning your travels, before the start of the semester.

No Tuition Fees for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens

There are no application or tuition fees for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. You are required to provide proof of citizenship for your admissions application to be processed.

Application timeline: Second admissions round 

For EU/EEA/Swiss citizens only

  • 15 March 2024: Application round opens at universityadmissions.se
  • 15 April 2024: Application deadline at midnight CET
  • 2 May 2024: Deadline to document fee exempt status (EU/EEA)
  • 20 June 2024: Deadline for receipt of supporting documentation for applicants completing upper secondary school after the application deadline
  • 11 July 2024: Admissions results published
  • 19 July 2024: Last day to reply to your offer
  • 25 July 2024: Second admissions results (no reply required)
  • 2 September 2024: Autumn semester starts

Did you apply in the first admissions round? 

For EU/EEA and Swiss citizens that have submitted an application in the first admission round with the 15 January deadline, you do not need to apply again. Just wait for the notification of admission results on 21 March (master's) or 11 April (bachelor's).

Important information for non-EU/EEA students

If you are NOT a citizen of the EU/EEA or Switzerland, you will not have enough time to have your residence permit application processed and approved to begin your studies on time if you apply in the second admission round. Please apply in the next main application period that runs during mid-October to mid-January.

If you have completed your application before 1 February 2024 for programmes beginning in autumn 2024, you will receive notifification of admission results on 21 March (master's) or 11 April (bachelor's).
