Mathematics teaching at the high school's vocational program

PhD project National surveys show that a large group of professional students finish their upper secondary education without obtaining a degree, even though they have completed the education.

By far the most common reason why the students do not pass a vocational degree is that they do not have a passing grade in the compulsory mathematics course (Ma1a). In my research project, I study which aspects on the students' goal achievement in Ma 1a that are identified by the school's various professional groups and by the students themselves.
