I am Fatemeh Moradi, a university lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction, focused on designing technologies and understanding their impact on individuals and society.
I'm a Universitetslektor in Human-Computer Interaction at the Department of Informatics. I have been actively involved in both research and teaching. I played a key role in redesigning our Human-Computer Interaction and UX Master's program from 2019 to 2020 and am one of the few who teach across all programs in our department.
My research uses design thinking and future studies to drive change, including sustainable development and digital solutions. I also serve as an editor for the Journal of Digital Social Research and am a member of the steering group of Curiosum.
Additionally, I organize events like career days and hackathons to foster collaboration and build connections across educational programs.
I've been an active teaching staff member in the Department of Informatics at Umeå University since 2015. Over the past decade, I've taught across all five programs: Digital Media Production (DMP), Systems Science with emphasis in Design, Interaction and Innovation (SVP), Behavior Analysis of IT Environments (BIT), Human-Computer Interaction and UX (HCIUX), and our new program on Digital Management and Innovation (DMI). I've redesigned our HCI and UX Master's program and developed courses in almost all the aforementioned programs. I teach many courses that focus on design thinking, feminist technoscience, UX and User Studies, digital fabrication, digital sustainability, future studies, data-driven organizations, future of work, and qualitative methods.
I've coordinated the HCI and UX Master's program for five years, contributed to designing courses for various programs, and initiated the Informatik+ initiative to engage students more actively. I regularly invite external presenters and include live cases in my courses. I'm also involved in designing course plans for companies on green transitioning. Throughout my career, I've been an active voice in program committee meetings and enjoy teaching and engaging with students.
