I gained my Ph.D. from Department of Education, Umeå Univeristy in 2024 with a dissertation examining how the school subject Physical Education and Health is reshaped when new political directives intersect with local practices. The study explores how educational change materializes in practice and the mechanisms that impede, drive, or transform reforms as they encounter the organizational and cultural structures of schools.
My research focuses on processes situated at the intersection of governance and organizing principles and the norms, values, and practices that characterize diverse organizational contexts. This interest is driven by the consequences these processes have for the distribution of power, resources, and division of labor, as well as for what is regarded as legitimate knowledge and practice. Particular attention is given to how actors construct and sustain legitimacy through strategic change, boundary work, and negotiations over roles and responsibilities, and to the (un)intended consequences of these activities.
As of January 2026, I also serve as Deputy Director of Studies for the Police Education Programme. I primarily teach and supervise within the Police Programme and in standalone courses in police work, with a focus on group processes, mental and physical preparedness, and qualitative research methods.
