Patrik Danielson is Professor of Anatomy at Umeå University and Senior Consultant (Attending) Ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Umeå. He currently also serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Deputy to the Vice-Chancellor) / Vice President of the University.
The Vice President/Pro-Vice-Chancellor (equiv. of Provost) is the President's/Vice-Chancellor's deputy and acts in her place when she is not on duty, or on her behalf per her decision. The Vice President is also otherwise tasked with the responsibilities that the President decides. The Vice President is appointed by the University Board.
At Umeå University the President has decided that the Vice President works broadly in the University Management with matters concerning both research and education, and supports both the President and the Deputy Vice-Chancellors for these core areas.
