Drygt nio miljoner kronor till utvecklingsforskning

Vetenskapsrådet har tagit beslut om bidrag i årets stora utlysning inom utvecklingsforskning. Fem forskare vid Umeå universitet har beviljats bidrag med sammanlagt 9,29 miljoner kronor.

Yien Ling Hii, Institutionen för folkhälsa och klinisk medicin Fostering Sweden-Malaysia research partnership: Enhancing research capacity and competence for the development of an early warning of dengue, a climate-sensitive vector-borne disease, samarbete med University of Malaya, Malaysia, 750 000 kronor.
Laszlo Bako, Institutionen för fysiologisk botanik Studies on the role of pRB-CYCLIN/CDK pathway in tissue regeneration and its response to viral infection in Ambystoma salamander species, samarbete med Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexiko, 744 000 kronor.
Anna Linusson, Kemiska institutionen Vector control by multiple classes of small organic compounds to combat mosquito-borne infectious diseases and suppress insecticide resistance, samarbet med Kenya Medical Research Institute, Kenya, 750 000 kronor samt 3 000 000 kronor.
Maria Eriksson, Institutionen för fysiologisk botanik Using trees to explore the role of the circadian clock in salt- and drought stress, samarbete med University of La Serena, Chile, 750 000 kronor.
Tommy Olsson, Institutionen för folkhälsa och klinisk medicin Identification of metabolic pathways that predict type 2 diabetes in black South African women, 3 300 000 kronor.
