The Research Support and Collaboration Office serves as a key point of contact and support for companies, organisations, and public authorities interested in collaborating with Umeå University. Please feel free to contact us if you need assistance developing a collaboration idea, want to explore ways to engage with our students and researchers, or wish to enhance your professional skills through contract education.
We also provide guidance and support to university researchers seeking funding, including from the EU’s Framework Programme (Horizon Europe). These types of funding opportunities often foster collaboration and aim to increase the impact of research and innovation in society.
The Research Support and Collaboration Office
International Office works with university-wide questions pertaining to internationalisation. We are a strategic support for the university management, faculties and departments in implementing the university's internationalisation strategy and achieving the goals in its vision.
International Office manages and coordinates the university's participation in several international cooperations, networks and projects, for example: Erasmus+, Nordplus, Linnaeus-Palme, the Nordic Centre in India and the Nordic Centre in Fudan.
Innovation Office
Innovation Office helps you test new ideas, explore innovation, and build experience — securely, step by step, and without having to step out of your role as a researcher, doctoral student, student or employee.
Through personal advice, verification support, and access to tools, funding, and networks, we make it easy to move from idea to action on a small scale and on your terms.
Innovation Office is part of the University’s innovation environment. We work where research, curiosity, and societal challenges meet, and we share the University’s ambition to contribute to societal benefit, sustainability, and new solutions that improve people’s lives.
Companies in need of research skills can obtain help through Uminova Innovation AB. Our main aim is to stimulate an exchange of knowledge, ideas and experience between the University and the industry. Uminova Innovation AB is a gateway to the research resources available at the University, but it is also a gateway to the industry for researchers.
Our centre catalogues, investigates and evaluates research results from the point of view of commercial viability. When research is found to be of commercial interest, we can assist the researcher through all the necessary steps to establishing a company.
