Johan Hellström is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Political Science and researching on political parties and governments in Europe.
Research and teaching
My research focuses primarily on political parties and governments in European parliamentary democracies, focusing on topics such as, government formation, government stability, political institutions and party behaviour.
I am currently leading the project Party Government in Europe Database. This project and previous research projects are available at the European Representative Democracy Data Archive.
I currently teach about political parties and goverments, social movements and research methods, as well as supervising and examine at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
I write at the Political Science blog On Power and Politics (mainly, but not exclusively, in Swedish).
