CIRC provide a scientific platform for research, teaching and public outreach in Abisko, serving a key role in Umeå University´s activities in the Arctic.
It is a public research herbarium encompassing approximately 300 000 specimens of vascular plants, mosses, algae, fungi and lichens from all parts of the world, but mainly from northern Sweden.
IceLab (Integrated Science Lab) is a hub for research and education building theories and methods to understand living systems with tools from physics and mathematics.
Sliperiet gathers academic and industry partners to create a strong area for research and innovation, a competence cluster within digital manufacturing, sustainable building and 3D technology in the north of Sweden. Umeå School of Architecture and the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics take part in the project.
