I have a bachelor's degree in Social work, I received my PhD in Social Work in 1998, and became Professor of Social Work at Umeå University in 2008. I was affiliated as Professor at Shandong University in China in 2018.
My current research has three main strands:
- Organization of social services and client work
- Social workers knowledge and professional practice
- Evaluation, quality and results in social work
I am active in several research collaborations and networks, nationally and internationally. In addition, I interact with various actors outside the academy, including the social services in several municipalities. At the Department of Social Work, I am heading the research profile: Interventions, Addiction, Evaluation.
I teach and supervise mainly at advanced and PhD levels. My teaching is primarily focused on evaluation, quality issues and research design.
