Vertical Workshop

Every August, as the höstsommar (autumn-summer) begins, we kick off the semester with a two-week Vertical Workshop.

Why vertical? We form randomly-generated groups of students from every year of our five-year architecture programme.

Why a workshop? We invite guest speakers to deliver inspirational and informative lectures. We then challenge our students to work collaboratively and intensively in small groups to research, discuss and do something on a particular subject. Students exhibit their outcomes at the end of the two weeks. We do this to strengthen our ethics as students, researchers and future architects. We want to inform our students of their responsibilities while encouraging them to find their way in the world.

The Vertical Workshop delivers credits into the Theory of Architecture and Synthesis courses.
