When I was a teenager, I started telling myself a fairytale beginning in a city that has sunken into the darkness of the deep sea. Somewhere down there, three drowned sailors are doing their best to drink away the memories of the lives that are still waiting for them above. Mother-of-pearl is home alone in the shell, waiting and longing and hoping for someone to come and find her. 

With dark humor and honest fairy tales, Lulu Staaf (b. 1997, Malmö) tries to interpret her nightmares, bring out the beauty in the beast and make use of what is overlooked or thrown away.
