The course starts off with registration and introduction. You need to be registered on the course in the study documentation system in order to be able to follow the course and to get your results registered during the course. If you are unable to attend during the registration and introduction, you need to contact the study administrator Angelica Johansson in advance, or else you risk losing your place (seat) at the course/programme.
All teaching will be performed on distance using Zoom. The study platform for the course will be Canvas. You will get access to the course site upon registration. The teaching language is English.
The teaching on the course will be a mix of lectures and computer exercises. Course material and exercises will be distributed during the course. You don’t need to retrieve any specific course books since there are plenty of good literature available on the web. We will give some suggestions later on.
The lectures will be given between 17 January and 31 March on Mondays and Thursdays. Additionally, we have lectures on two Tuesdays; 18/1 and 29/3. The time for the lectures will be 8.15-10.00. There is one exception to this; the first day of the course (17 January) the lecture is 10.15-12.00. A more detailed schedule will be distributed later.
At course start there will be a voluntary opportunity for those who need help with the installation of the software used in the course (R and R-studio) at 9.00-10.00 Monday 17 January, i.e. before the official start of the course.
Important: There will be a roll call (upprop in Swedish) at 10.15 am 17 January.Participation is mandatory (if you absolutely cannot be present you have to inform us in advance). If you do not participate, your place on the course will be given to a student on the waiting list.
The examination will be through two group exercises and a home exam. These examinations are intended to be performed outside scheduled lecture time. The time period for work with the home exam will be 31/3-11/4.

It’s not possible to self-register online for this course. In order to get registered you need to attend the mandatory roll call at 10:15 am January 17.
A Zoom link will be sent out to all admitted students. The link will be sent out to the same email address that was used when applying to the course. If you haven't received an email please check your junk folder.
Umu-id är ditt användarkonto. Det behöver du för att kunna registrera dig på utbildningen. När du är ny student får du automatiskt ett Umu-id, men du måste själv aktivera det för att det ska fungera.

När du är på något av våra campus kommer du behöva ett Umu-kort. Umu-kortet är personligt och fungerar som passerkort, kopieringskort och lånekort. Allt i ett. För att få tillgång till kortet måste du själv ansöka om det.

Sök det pedagogiska stöd du har rätt till på direkten. Då är det fixat när terminen börjar och du bara vill komma i gång med utbildningen.
Du kan få stöd om du till exempel har dyslexi, adhd eller nedsatt syn. Beroende på dina behov finns olika typer av stöd. Vanligt är att en får anteckningsstöd, längre skrivtid eller anpassning av sitt kursmaterial. Målet är helt enkelt att göra det lättare för dig att plugga på lika villkor.
Infocenter, möjligen de bästa vi har. De hjälper dig genom de första veckorna som ny student. Kanske behöver du hjälp med ditt Umu-id, att hitta rätt i lokalerna eller snabbt stämma av med en studievägledare? Och skulle de inte ha ett svar direkt, så vet de var och hur de vägleder dig vidare.
