In order to start your studies at the course, you need to register for the course in Student Web between the 26th of October and 3rd of November. Otherwise you risk losing your place (seat) at the course. You also need to be registered to be able to follow the course and to get your results recorded during the course.
The course starts on Tuesday the 2nd of November. You will find the time and place for the course introduction in the schedule, which is published three weeks ahead of the start of the course. Please let us know if you can't be present at this first occasion.
The course describes, analyzes and critically assesses human rights in an international, regional, and national constitutional context. The normative protection of human rights is covered as well as their enforcement and application. The importance of human rights for the understanding and conditioning of constitutions and the role of constitutions for realizing human rights in practice are subject to analysis and critical discussion in relation to current situations.
You will find more and specific information on the learning platform of the course. It is very important that you regularly visit the site as seminars may be moved, topics changed and other last-minute adjustments made as the course progresses. Mandatory readings for each seminar will be posted on the site at least one week before each seminar. You are expected to have read the relevant readings before the respective seminar and handed in papers for some of the seminars. Make sure that you have a copy of the course book when the course starts.
Please note that active participation in all seminars is mandatory.
In the end of the course, you will take a two day home exam. Further instructions will be provided in class and at the learning platform.

För att få tillgång till Office behöver du först aktivera ditt Umu-id.
Infocenter hjälper dig med det du kan behöva för att ta dig genom de första veckorna som ny student. Här kan du till exempel få hjälp med ditt Umu-id, att hitta rätt i lokaler eller träffa en studievägledare. Och skulle de inte ha ett svar direkt, så vet de var och hur de vägleder dig vidare. Infocenter håller till i huset Universum, mitt på Campus Umeå.
