Open call to Ukrainian students

Open call to Ukrainian students and practitioners of architecture, art and design disciplines. Residency opportunities at Umeå School of Architecture (UMA), Sweden.

Umeå School of Architecture launches a residency program for Ukrainian students and practitioners of design disciplines. Residency program means that we offer a physical working place in the building of UMA with access to our physical and digital infrastructure - a working desk to call your own, access to library, wood workshop, computer LAB and software and other amenities. Our staff will be there to provide additional support.

The program is aimed at Ukrainian students and professionals of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, art, design and other spatial and design disciplines. We intend to provide this support to enable Ukrainians fleeing the war to continue their work or studies remotely while having a safe, well equipped and supportive working environment at UMA.

To apply for the residency send us the following information:
1.     CV
2.     Portfolio
3.     Motivation letter – tell us your story and what do you plan to work on while at UMA
4.     Desired period of residency

Send documents to: toms.kokins@umu.se

Number of residencies are limited. Residency is granted for two academic semesters starting from August 2023 with a possibly of renewal. The program does not include support for accommodation.
