You have been admitted to the Master's Programme in Economics at Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics, Umeå University. On this page you will find important information that will be useful, please read it carefully. You have been admitted. If you want to keep your place (seat), you do not have to reply to your offer.
If you do not want to keep your place you should decline your offer by logging in to 'My pages' on universityadmissions.se, and follow the instructions. You should click "I wish to decline this offer" next to the course or programme you want to decline.
If you see "Reserve" next to your course or programme in the Notification of selection results, this means that you've been placed on a waiting list for that course/programme.
Registration takes place at campus when the semester starts at the end of August 2021. Physical registration is required and you will be informed about how this is to take place during the first week and by attending the first lecture of the first course.
The autumn semester starts with lectures and a welcome meeting on the 30th of August.
The schedule for the first module, Mathematical Economics I D7 7.5 credits, will be published no later than the 9th of August at the website mentioned above. It is also by attending the scheduled lectures that registration will take place. The classes this coming term are intended to be Campus based, and the first course is planned to be on Campus.
Recommended arrival time
You are recommended to arrive at least one week before lectures starts so that you can participate in all the introductory activities.
The International Office at Umeå University will arrange an Orientation Course for international students starting 25th of August. It is recommended that all international students attend it. The schedule for that will be found here.
The first lecture starts with a welcome meeting. We will go through some useful practical information for about an hour. The other hour you will have an ordinary lecture. The first lecture will take place on Monday the 30th of August at 10.00-12.00 in Hörsal G. (See schedule)
You are recommended to arrive one week early before the start of lectures but at the very last you may arrive one week late, before 4.30 p.m. Monday the 6th of September.
If you arrive later you will no longer have a seat at the program and will have to return home. If you fear that you will face some delay keep in touch with your Study Advisor (firstname.lastname@example.org).

We have gathered all information that you will need during your time here at USBE on our website (USBE=Umeå School of Business and Economics).
During the first semester of the programme you will study four 7,5 credit courses. Mathematical Economics I D7, Econometrics I D12, Microeconomics Analysis I D25, Microeconomic Analysis II D26.
The Business Student section of The Student Union called HHUS, will arrange a welcome and team building activity for all newly admitted students at both undergraduate and master programmes. Further information concerning this activity will be posted on their webpage in June HHUS.
We will start a facebook group for all newly admitted students to this program. An e-mail with a link to the group will be sent out shortly. If you have not received it and wish to join the group contact the study advisor (email@example.com). (The e-mail can also have ended up in your junk mail).

Infocenter hjälper dig med det du kan behöva för att ta dig genom de första veckorna som ny student. Här kan du till exempel få hjälp med ditt Umu-id, att hitta rätt i lokaler eller träffa en studievägledare. Och skulle de inte ha ett svar direkt, så vet de var och hur de vägleder dig vidare.
