Konsthögskolan har en utställningsplats på Renmarksesplanaden 3, Umeå. Skyltfönstret, en plats för små intensiva konstprojekt och presentationer av och med studenter vid Konsthögskolan i Umeå.

The Art of Woodworking and Oil Painting Conservation

This exhibition presents works in woodworking, oil painting conservation, printmaking, and selected traditional handicrafts.

A wooden furniture piece was developed in collaboration with master woodworker and mentor Yuval Evian. His guiding principle—“Don’t compete with nature”—reflects a material-based approach to woodworking that emphasizes the inherent properties of wood.

The exhibition also includes two oil paintings created by the artist and later restored following severe damage, as well as a photogravure print.

In addition, selected objects from the artist’s personal archive are presented, including a sewing pouch made by the artist’s grandmother in her later years (she is still living). Comparable forms can be found in Sámi craft traditions, where similar objects were historically made using natural materials such as antler or bone.

Bringing together woodworking, conservation, printmaking, and handicraft, the exhibition explores making, repair, and the transmission of knowledge through material practice.
